Help is available for three areas:
Settings/Support
Top level page - menus and navigation
The 2005 log-book main page
The story page
Follow this link to set language and map settings as well as to learn more about your current browser settings.
The top level shows a navigation bar on the left, a breadcrumbs (Remember Hänsel and Gretel - where am I?) and title are on top and the content area below. These breadcrumbs are unfortunately not available for all web browsers.
Clickable areas (ie areas you can use to navigate) are shown like this .
Move the mouse over an area of interest below and a floating title will show an explanation.
The log book is divided into different stories. Each story describes a part of our cruise. Clicking 2005 in the navigation menu brings up a list similar to the one below.
Each entry lists the dates and title of a story. Clicking the Show Map button shows a map with the location of the first picture of each story.
Each story is shown as a slide-show. Where information (Title, Waterway, Date/Time and Location) describing the picture is shown above the picture and additional text telling you more about the picture is shown on the right.
The slide show has two modes: Automatic and Manuel. In Automatic mode the pictures change automatically after a defined interval. The manual mode lets you move to the first, next, previous and last picture. You can also select pictures directly from a pull-down menu.
As above, moving the mouse over an area of interest shows its purpose.
The site uses quite advanced JavaScript code and I have not done much testing on other platforms than Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla/Firefox 1.0.4. So if you encounter Problems click here and send me the information describing the problem and the version information of your browser using the contact form.
Have Fun!
