Each Google Map contains the map data and map controls.
| Control | Function |
| Zoom Control | Zoom in, out, pan in the four directions and go back to the previous view. |
| Map Type | Switch between Street Map, Satellite Picture and Hybrid (Map and Satellite Picture). Using Satellite or Hybrid maps loads many items at once. I have noticed, that the Cisco/linksys 54GS router sometimes crashes (and reboots). |
| Overview Map | Pan around by dragging the highlighted area. |
There are also some accelerators when using the map:

| Double Click | Zoom one level in |
| Left Mouse drag | Move the visible portion of the map. |
| Left click the Google Icon | See the same area directly on the Google Maps web site |
On the map you notice markers;
they
indicate where a specific picture was taken.
If you move the mouse over a marker the title of the picture is displayed.
and if you left click on the marker then the title and the picture is displayed.
Clicking 
closes the overview window.
