On Wednesday we have two more visitors.

Heinz, Jacquelines brother and his son, Valentine are visiting for a few hours as we drive from Villeneuve to Agde.

Betty's rope handling class is in session again.
Valentine looks very concentrated as we pass through our only lock of the day in Portiragnes.
A wide, straight stretch so it is time for a first driving lesson, after all I would like to enjoy the sun-deck as well!
Ueli makes a competent impression,
Sebastian holds the steering wheel like a pro and
finally Valentine showing his skills as a skipper.

We invite them all back for next year so Betty and I can take a break!

The passage of the Liberon, a complicated weir system allowing the river to pass through at the same level, but we are still not quite sure how it really works!
After staying a night in Agde we head towards the last lock of the Canal du Midi. The canal passes upriver through the Herault river, quite a change from the low, narrow waters of the Canal du Midi!
The stop-lock, allowing to separate the canal from the river in case of floods.
After passing through the last lock of the Canal du Midi we tie up close to a nature preserve.

We are now already in salt water, ready to cross the Etang the Thau at first day-light.

A heron is observing all our moves.
A quiet, remote mooring, but
why did Peter go for a bath in the Canal?

Having observed some weird behavior of the rev-counter and heard a strange clapping sound from the screw I decide to inspect it and find a set of work-clothes including belt shredded and tightly wrapped around it.

I guess that makes driving over the Etang easier!

Even Racine is exhausted after all this excitement.
