Finally! We are on our way again.

Very early in the morning we leave Port Sud and

pass some of the permanently moored barges outside of Ramonville.

Marc, Marc and Shari from San Francisco stay with us for a couple of weeks, is our resident photographer and he gave me permission to use his pictures on our web-site.

After a few kilometers we reach our first lock.
The lock door is closing behind us.
I guess Shari did not know that we would immediately put her to work. Here she opens one of the still manually operated lock doors.
Leaving the lock of Montgiscard, the locks on this stretch of the Canal have a funny double chamber, only one has doors, the other is doesn't seem to serve any purpose except making one drive through 4 small passages!
At Negra we visited the Chapel of the Canal du Midi.
The chapel is located above the Negra lock. This was the first day lunch stop of the postal barges traversing the Canal du Midi in the 18th century.
Dinner with Shari and Marc.
A little bit of trauma after dinner. Racine, while playing, badly hit his knee on a chair. We first thought the leg might be broken, but a visit to the vet fortunately revealed only an inflamed knee.

Thanks to Marc's pillow Racine recovered quickly.
