I'm Racine and
I'm very cute. I'm about 2-3 months old and I found my new owners right by
walking on the tow-path on the side of the Canal du Midi. I walked around yesterday all day and last night and cried - since I was lost. Or may be someone `lost' me on purpose; at least that is what my new owners and the Vet think. How else would a kitten like me just be lost away from any house? But after some searching I found the new place I was looking for and it seems that Betty and Peter also were looking for someone like me. They took me to the vet to have me checked out. What a horror that was. They gave me an injection and knocked me out so the vet could draw some blood. I seem to be a little underweight, but I'm eating to correct that problem, but other than that I'm ok.

So how did I
get my name? First they thought about naming me Friday - as I was found on a Friday. But then they had another idea. There is a big root crossing the tow-path right were the Avanti B is moored. Every time a group of bicyclists rode by the front person usually called out 'Racine', which means root in French, to warn the rest of the group. Since I was found on the tow-path Betty and Peter thought that this was an appropriate name. I however think that they named me for the French poet Racine, since I'm alse a very good talker! |

I'm not allowed outside on my own, so leash training started the first day. |

I already found some favorite places, like the steps to the wheelhouse. I can sleep here while we are driving and still keep everything under control. |

Once in a while I'm sitting outside on Betty's lap when we drive. I don't mind the engine, but I don't like it too much if Peter uses the horn, but I might get used to this as well. |

I have many
toys, but not too many and so we sometimes have to search for the ones I
hide. Enough of me (for now), lets go back to the cruising log, but I'm sure you get regular updates of my adventures. |
