The hospital basin with a nice mooring space is between the rope that needs to be turned to activate the next lock and the lock.

So there are two ways to activate the lock (no, calling the VNF won't help) - reverse in shallow water 150 m or try to pull the rope from shore.

We decide for alternative two; easier said than done as the rope is too far away from shore to pull it. What next? Up on the bridge, Fredi gives directions from the shore up/left/NOW and I manage to hang the hook into the loop that attaches the rope to the lock mechanism. The lights at the lock turn red/green and we RUN, back to AvantiB, start the engine, let go of the ropes and off we go.

Where are Thea and Betty while all this is going on? Well they stand in the wheelhouse and can't help us as they have to catch their breath from laughing ....
