We had planned to leave Beaucaire end of April to start cruising up the Rhône. Thomas, Betty's brother, had even taken vacation to cruise with us for 10 days.

But plans are here to change ...

When we arrived in Beaucaire on April 23 it was clear that we would have to change our plans. Melting snow and rain had changed the Rhône into a brown fast flowing mass of water.

The picture shows the little Rhône at Fourques, the pontoons are normally about 20 feet above water level, now hardly visible.

So we had to find other things to do, as everybody knows not difficult on a barge!
