Rhinau to
Strasbourg - Canal Rhône au Rhin Branche Nord
July 17 - July 18
The two days of cruising complete our passage of the Canal du Rhône au Rhin. We passed the whole
South branch from St Symphorien to Mulhouse and the navigable portion of the North branch from Rhinau
to Strasbourg.
The Mulhouse-Basel and the Mulhouse-Rhinau portion of the canal were closed when the Grand Canal d'Alsace opened. The Grand Canal d'Alsace allowed Euro Standard sized ships to navigate up to Basel partially on the
Rhine and partially on the Canal dug parallel to the Altrhein (Old Rhine).
